On Thursday, November 10 the Foundation had our second Pocketbook Bingo event of the year. All seats sold – that’s 300 bingo players that came out for a night of fun, ten of which went home with one of ten beautiful designer handbags from Coach, Michael Kors or Kate Spade.
Through ticket sales, 50/50 and a purse raffle, $8,000 in funds were raised to support the purchase of equipment, like a new Rapid Infuser. Its primary function is the prevention and treatment of clinical shock through rapid infusion of warmed blood. It is used in cardiac arrest, stroke, and traumatic brain injury which can severely impair neurological function. Use of Rapid Infusers can decrease cardiac morbidity, blood loss, infection risk, procedure time, risk for transfusion and hospital length of stay by 20-65%.
Thank you to sponsors BMO Financial Group and Hub Tune Up, and to all our volunteers and bingo players!
